tips on how to prepare your skin for fall

How to prepare your skin for autumn

The summer almost passed, and now it’s time to prepare your skin for autumn. If in the summer taking care of your skin meant to always keep hydrated and protected from sunlight, well, in the fall, things are a little different. I invite you to read below some little tricks that will help to keep that beautiful skin radiant even in the fall.

First step: moisturizing

Your skin hydration is holy, absolutely in every season. So fall doesn’t make an exception. Don’t forget to do your best to give your body the hydration necessary both through food, water, and the care products you use. They must necessarily contain vitamins (especially vitamin E) and other active ingredients. Use a moisturizer for the face and body oil also for complete care.

Exfoliate your skin

After a summer in the sun, sea, swimming, surely you got a beautiful tan, and you want to keep as long as you can. But your skin needs exfoliation to get rid of dead skin particles. Don’t worry that your tan goes away, at least you’ll have smooth and beautiful skin. You can try a natural body scrub based on sugar, coffee grounds, and olive oil. The result will be amazing!

Natural skin masks

At least twice a week, I suggest applying a natural face mask, depending on the type of skin you have. So for oily skin you can try a mask with apple and honey or oatmeal, honey and lemon, for dry skin, I recommend a mask with honey, pumpkin (being rich in vitamin A, will greatly help the skin), milk and cinnamon, and for normal skin, you can try a mask with grapeseed oil, grapes, and honey.

Nourishing cream for the hands, elbows, and heels

Surely you faced the problem of cracked heels and very dry hands in the fall or winter, right? Well, if you start taking care of your skin in time, you’ll get past this problem without problems. Find your moisturizer, wear it with you always and apply it to your hands at least twice a day. Also, in winter you need to watch the tougher skin areas such as elbows and heels.

Take care of your lips

Lips are very sensitive, and with fall and winter, the problems will soon appear, so it’s very important to prepare in advance. Use a moisturizing lip balm with natural oils that will protect your lips. A good solution, in this case, is to apply vitamin E directly on the lips. Not only will protect your lips but will intensely hydrate and help them maintain a long time.

Don’t forget about sunscreen

Even though summer is over and you don’t go to the beach anymore, sun protection is important. No need to use a cream with high protection factor, SPF 15 may be sufficient. Search creams based on zinc oxide, if you have sensitive skin and you want more protection.

So, with a little attention and care, you will enjoy beautiful skin, even in the fall!

Ugh. My skin has just been getting worse lately – and it is awful. I blame the gross Los Angeles air but I also blame hormones. I am struggling over here a little bit 🙁

Oh man, my skin gets sooo dry in the winter. And I also have eczema. Great tips, thank you!

My skin definitely has some damage from the harsh Colorado sun! I love the vitamin E tip for the lips, and I never forget my sunscreen. We have to wear it daily here.

Taking care of your lips is huge once the chilly weather comes along. My lips totally transform in the fall and are chapped no matter what I do!
